Workshop on the development of the SHIFT transformation masterplan

On 17 July 2023, we (Alfred Angerer and Johanna Stahl) invited the two experts Stefan Kunz (Spital Thurgau) and Alexander Nelles (Spital Winterthur) to jointly develop a comprehensive transformation master plan for our smart & liquid hospital.

The aim was to develop the Why and What as well as the How of SHIFT. Accordingly, fundamental principles and concrete steps for the digital transformation of the hospital of the future were defined. The workshop began with an analysis of existing transformation plans and a persona exercise to understand the requirements from the CTIOs' perspective. In a creative phase with post-its, the participants visualised the principles and transformation phases and discussed key challenges and approaches to implementation. Here, too, it became clear that, in addition to the technical dimension, human and organisational factors in particular should be considered essential for the success of the transformation. The workshop laid the foundation for a practice-oriented transformation plan with clear, implementable steps for digitalisation.

This will now be further developed by SHIFT's central flagship management team.
